Representatives Attended SIETAC “Energy Transaction Risk Prevention and Dispute Resolution Seminar“
Ms.
Zhu Hongwen, Senior Partner of Sunshine Law Firm and also department head of
International Practice, attended Energy Transaction Risk Prevention and Dispute
Resolution Seminar jointly held by Shanghai International Economic and Trade
Arbitration Commission (Shanghai International Arbitration Center) and Shanghai
Bar Association’s Energy & Environment Law Study Committee together with Maxime
Peltier, Senior Counsel of Sunshine’s Shanghai office on November 2nd.
The
seminar was presided by Huang Wen, deputy secretary general of Shanghai
International Arbitration Center. Shanghai International Energy Exchange
Corporation’s legal expert Wu Qingbao, Shanghai International Arbitration
Center’s deputy secretary general Wu Rongliang and Shanghai International Arbitration Center’s
Belgian arbitrator Guy Block delivered speeches separately and discussed
professional issues on dispute resolution of energy transactions.
During
discussion, Ms. Zhu Hongwen shared experience of overseas energy transactions
on investment risk prevention, contract terms drafting and other aspects, and
emphasized issues on investors should pay attention on whether host country’s
government department have passed required legal procedure when signing letter
of guarantee or similar legal documents.
